Dunedin Zinefest 2011 was great! 8 hours of zines, music, making, colab, workshops, sharing ideas, swaps, exchanges, cakes, vege organic food, screen printing, film screenings, info, a book launch ... and 250 attendees!

The zinefest reading room / library will move to glue for 4 weeks along with the exhibition. Thanks so much to all who came along and who helped out on the day!

WORKSHOPS
11am - Wordsmith Workshop
...Fill a zine with your words; short verse, poetry, lyrics, ramblings,
rants, tales and stories - that thing you saw on the bus the other day
that made you feel SOMETHING!
1.30pm - Binding and Construction Workshop
Come and explore alternative construction and binding techniques to help you create a finished zine book. Using exciting and unique approaches to book binding, you can bring your unfinished pages of pearly wisdom and dazzeling doodles along and experiment with interesting ways to present these finished ‘bound’ book.

TALKS
11.45am - Spencer Hall / Dunedin Comic Collective
A talk about the history of the DCC. Some goss on other collectives
and publications around NZ.

3pm - 4.30pm - Bryce Galloway and Kerry Ann Lee
Discussion followed by ‘Incredibly Hot Sex With Hideous People’ book launch.

4.45pm - Damian / The Envoy from Bedlam
Shoptalk, smalltalk, talk & walk. Followed by a doco screening of
“$100 and a T-shirt: Zines in the North West” sponsored by Mint Dvd.

LIVEMUSIC
1pm - QTPI Two people making music with drums/bass guitar/foot
keyboard/pedals, double vocals. It’s heavy.
2.15pm - Sonicsmith Filled with knowledge that only comes from a
life time of \ computer nerdom
3.30pm - Black Yogurt His first instrument drum. by sefton holmes
4.15pm - Killmore Girls Dunedin’s foremost stoner no-wave drum and bass duo. Hard and fast.
5pm - DJ Fadez Living on the edge. 12 years and still going strong.
6pm - MY,OH. Part asian. Part Caucasian. Phat beats. Really hot right now.

ALL-DAY-LONG
COLLABORATION - There will be a space set up all day to do
collaborative work. Bring in your own materials if you have some to
spare. There will also be a kids space.
STALLS - Showcasing work from all over New Zealand/ the world.
Zines for sale.
ZINE LIBRARY - Extensive zine library. Zines from all over the
world. Some very rare pieces. Read/read/read. Nothing is for sale.
SCREEN PRINTING - Bring your own t-shirt, hoodie, canvas, whatever
and we’ll help you screenprint the dunedinzinefest artwork for a
measly $5! There will be some clothing already there if you forget
your own.
EXHIBITION - An exhibition of drawing and zine material. Artists
from all over New Zealand. Artwork for sale. Exhibition runs until
August 10.

NOTES

MAKE SURE YOU BRING CASH. $2 entry.
THIS IS A FAMILY FRIENDLY, ALL AGES EVENT.
There will be vegetarian, vegan, gluten free food, coffee etc for sale.
